sometimes, television dramas are just fairy tales in disguise - with even more vicious and relentless evil-stepmothers, abundance of poisonous apples sprouting out in an attempt to contaminate the relationship, and not to forget, an extremely faithful admirer doubling up as the fairy godmother who always gives in to the female protagonist's demands and rescues her every time, only to let the prince in the show steal all the limelight after that.
all in all, what makes these dramas so addictive and popular is not just the predictability of its 'happily-ever-after' closure, but also the absurdity and magic of how the lives of the characters unfold, making us realise that perhaps our lives may not be that different from fiction either.
