set in a summer of a high school, blue gate crossing is a quirky yet refreshing film that explores a mature theme with an innocent touch, as a teenage crush unfolds into a bizarre love triangle which throws the female protagonist into an emotional state of chaos. the intense moments in the show were carefully interspersed with light-hearted scenes, as the young cast leads us through their coming-of-age in a waltz that alternate between intimacy and distance. this film may not be perfect, but it's certainly a rare gem, especially in the light of the simplicity of the movie.
