A Quiet Breath

we are all greedy, only in different ways.

some people are greedy for fame, others for popularity - they want everybody to know them, to like them, to shower them with attention and treat them like gods/goddesses. some people are greedy for wealth and material possessions - it is not enough to be a millionaire, to own a big house, and a fanciful car. they want to be a billionaire with a whole estate to their name, and a family of rolls-royces in their garage. some people are greedy for power and control - the marketing executive aspires to be the marketing director, the manager aspires to be the general manager, and the vice president aspires to be the president. on the other hand, some people are greedy for good grades and academic achievements - a typical overachiever who aces a test, would never look at the ninety marks he got, but rather at the ten marks that he knew he shouldnt had lost. many people are greedy for time - they complain that they dont have time for anything, and push the blame to everything but their poor time management. while, there are also some who are greedy for other people's time - they become so possessive that being together six days a week is not enough, they want all 168 hours from their spouse/lover. not to forget, some people are greedy for love - they either two-time people, or they end up leaving all the suitors hanging because they dont want to choose and they want all of the love and attention that they can get. of cos, there are always kids who are greedy for toys, women who are greedy for shoes and bags, and men who are greedy for more women.

the list is non-exhaustive, but the greediest of all, are those who are the most self-centered, because nobody else exists in their world, and so they just want the world for themselves.
